Here's a little something I picked up a long time ago and thought you might find useful.
There was a book published some twenty years or more ago, called 'Beat The Dealer' by
a Dr. Thorp, who systematically played some 100 million blackjack hands using computers
(obviously). From his results, he published the following tables in his book which lay out the
proper basic strategies for playing blackjack hands.
You will either draw a hand totalling 21 and beat the dealer outright. This is known as ‘Blackjack' and is the strongest hand. You will put together a combination of cards that would get you as close to 21 without crossing that threshold, and your hand value would still be higher than the dealer's hand.
- Blackjack dealers commonly use a 'zero shuffle,' where cards are separated into piles, with the shuffling only being done between the piles (i.e., the dealer grabs two piles and riffles them). This means that the ace of hearts, for example, would have a high chance of only being in one or two sections of the shuffled shoe.
- 'Beat the dealer' just means 'win a hand of Blackjack'. This is super easy, but here's some basic strategy for playing when Blackjack: The most important thing to realise is that there are more 10s than any other card type (10 = 10, Jack = 10, Queen = 10, King = 10), so there's a greater chance of drawing 10 from the pack than any other value.
Of course be advised that Lifesmith makes no claims other than what we state here.
I don't even enjoy playing blackjack (I find craps and poker more fun and profitable)...
The top table is for single deck blackjack (harder to find but still present in Las Vegas
and Atlantic City) and the bottom table is for double deck blackjack (more common).
The legend for both tables is quite simple:

Keep in mind that these are the basic strategies. There are adjustments
that need to be made to these plays depending on the particular house
rule variations and upon the leanness or richness of certain card types
remaining in the deck (for those card counters out there).
